EPISODE 2 From creative craftsmanship to peerless partnership
Over six months, a team of 14 master jewellers and setters, devoted 1,700 hours to the creation, making each piece of the necklace by hand in de GRISOGONO’s high jewellery ateliers. The Art of de GRISOGONO, Creation 1 leaves the workshops to be handed over to Christie’s, the prestigious partner entrusted with accompanying de GRISOGONO in an exceptional auction that will take place in Geneva on November 14th.

In the heart of Manhattan, one of the world’s biggest rough diamonds was crafted into a landmark diamond.
For many months, alongside Founder and Creative Director of de GRISOGONO, Fawaz Gruosi, a dozen handpicked specialists took turns in analysing, cutting and polishing this exceptional stone.

For several months, Fawaz Gruosi and his teams worked tirelessly to create an exceptional work of art.

Before the first piece of gold is hammered, a highly detailed life-size wax model carved by hand is made of the necklace – a crucial stage providing a 3D blueprint to guide the thousands of processes required to make each individual component and act as a constant source of reference for the team.

EPISODE 7 GIA grading – the rarest of all diamonds
As soon as the diamond-cutting is complete, Fawaz Gruosi presents this unique stone to the Vice-President of the Gemological institute of America. One of the world’s authorities in diamond grading and identification. This organisation is responsible for certifying the different characteristics of each diamond: clarity, cut, carat weight and colour.
EPISODE 8 Heart of the “ 4 de Fevereiro” released
On December 2016, the final GIA certificate is issued: a 163.41-carat emerald-cut diamond, D for the highest degree of Colorless, and F for Flawless, meaning without any inclusions. A historical diamond is born, truly unique in its kind.
EPISODE 9 Unique sparkle achieved through inimitable savoir faire.
The diamond is laser-cut. The aim is to carve out the main stone, step by step. A perfectly proportioned emerald cut magnifying the radiance of its unique transparency. Polishing is a key stage in the cutting of a diamond. Facet by facet, its brilliance is further enhanced and refined.
