SOME WORDS TO MAKE A CHANGE
MORE THAN 2 MILLIONS VIEWS ON YOUTUBE
In celebration of International Women's Day (Unesco - March 8th) during the Fall/Winter 2013 Paris Fashion week, Mann & Miller with SPOA FILMS produced the short film 'Some Words to Make A Change' directed by Jan Lisman. The film stars several female fashion insiders with a text written by Ash Bhalla and performed by Dolores Chaplin, the movie poetically articulates the aspirations underlying Jan Lisman's "Art Beat".
The 8th March is a revolutionary day. It’s not rhetoric talk but history. On 8th March 1917, in Saint Petersburg women took to the streets demanding “Bread and Peace” , that is the end of the war (World War I), and calling for the respect of their rights. This year the International Women’s Day has as its core theme the fight against violence on women. A good way to celebrate this special day could be to re-enact that Break the Chain dance that last February 14th led around a billion people (a figure impossible to say for sure but very likely) to stage flash mobs in 203 countries around the world.
The internet, music and videos are preferential means to convey messages as they use a universal language.
Timed with the International Women’s Day, Mann & Miller with SPOA FILMS have produced Some Words to Make a Change, a video-tribute to womanhood directed by Jan LISMAN & Rosalie MILLER, with text by Ash Bhalla, the voice of Dolores Chaplin, the music by Loic Ouare and the participation of many big names from the fashion and cinema industry including Clotilde Courau, Amanda Seyfried, Cara Delevingne and Margherita Missoni.
